Atlanta seems to have an abundance of very fast drivers who weave from lane to lane on the widest and busiest parts of I-75 (and the other Interstates) without changing speed or indicating their plans via their turn signals. Make sure your daughter knows to keep an eye on traffic in the lanes around her as well as the other drivers in the lane she is in, and that she does not follow too closely. Also make sure the radio and other potentially distracting devices are turned off while she's in the thick of it.
If you can, map out her route with her ahead of time, and make sure she knows the numbers and names and locations - of any exits she'll be taking, as well as the name of the exits immediately before the ones she'll take. She will also need to know the names of any streets or roads onto which she will be turning, along with route numbers if that applies. Write the most crucial of these things on an index card and tape it to the rear-view mirror or the drink holder or windshield shade, where it can be seen at a quick glance. She probably won't need it - but it never hurts to be extra well-prepared.
^^^ What you write about Atlanta drivers is true, but the OP was written in 2009, so we have to hope she survived her drive unscathed.
Oops! Oh, well, perhaps other novice drivers will benefit...
