It is true and they are dumb rednecks like most of the folks in Merriweather County.

That woman needs to be locked up and the key thrown away. I personally have no problem with putting a bullet in her head, but we just can't do that, can we.

I am TOTALLY not a hamster/gerbil/guinea pig as a pet kind of person, but that's so awful. Some people should not be allowed to have kids..

Well stated. There never has been much of a rodent love affair in my house either, but there is real sickness in this story...

Wasn't something like this in a book or movie? Some dad forces his kid to shoot his dog, and the kid kills himself instead?

And if they don't punish her for this then they need to send her picture to every pet store and animal shelter so she is never allowed to have a 4 legged creature again. I am not sure her son is even safe with her.

People that abuse animals are simply sh*theads and deserve to be treated the way they treated the animal. I DO feel the same way about elder and child abuse.

Interesting that the news article made a point of captioning the photo as undated of her in the Sheriff's office, leading me to believe that they've seen her at least once before.
She clearly needs a psych. evaluation and that kid needs to be kept away from her and made to understand that she is just outright batshyt crazy.

I'm so shocked by the title, I can't even bring myself to read the article.

That poor child is going to grow up a total mess if someone doesn't step in to protect him. He needs therapy for being forced to do this.

They better take her kids away from her. I'm just heartbroken about this.

The world is full of sick people, and I think I'm better off not watching the news, reading the newspapers, or these threads.
