there are several threads on this family. I believe that there will be a special episode of their show on soon with the premature birth of their 19th baby.
Well, its a free country and anyone is free to have as many as they want...BUT what I can't understand is why it needs to be broadcasted on TV and why people have some weird fascination with watching other people on TV go about their daily lives? Reality TV needs to die, in my opinion. Plus, these reality shows spawn other wanna-be's....like the "octomom." What a trainwreck.
They're loaded with money, that's for damn sure. While financial wealth certainly doesn't rationalize spawning almost 20 rug rats, it makes more sense than a dirt-poor couple in some third world craphole trying to single-handedly double their country's population.
they are free to do what they want, and seem to be able to support themselves financially, so really, none of my business. However, I don't agree with the way the kids are so sheltered, and the girls aren't raised to be anything other than moms. And, even though this particular family does well financially, there must be many others who are part of the quiverful movement that are dirt poor. I don't agree with bringing so many children into the world, especially if you are living in poverty already.
The Duggars are financially stable and they seem to have enough love to go around. If only people with these qualities reproduced, the world would be a different place.
We decided that we wanted neither the financial burden nor emotional burden of children. Don't get me wrong, we love kids. But it is a serious responsibility.
The Dugger mom is not "just a mom." She doesn't just reproduce. She is a teacher, a planning coordinator, a nurse, etc. She has passed these skills on to her sons and daughters. I think some of the daughters will break away and join the working world. Afterall, the best birth control is raising your little siblings!
I could be wrong, but last time I looked this was still a free country
If they can afford to take care of all these kids and aren't asking a dime of public assistance, what skin is it off YOUR nose how many kids they have?
Why do 13 yr old girls have babies?
Why do 25yr old crack addicts living on the streets have babies?
It's a free country.
Unlike many people who have one or two babies and can barely take care of themselves & expect everyone around them to take care of their kids, the Duggars are not on public assistance, pay taxes, and are fairly self-sufficient. They live within in their means, love their children, and have a committed relationship to each other and their children.
They are making bank of the tv show, that is for sure. But they had 16 kids before the show even started, so it has nothing to do with wanting to be on tv.
Do the Duggar girls ever wear pants? They even go swimming in dresses. Very strange....looks like something out of Little House on the Prairie. I even saw one where they ran in some 5k race and the girls couldn't wear running shorts or pants, they were running in dresses. Weird.
