If you are like me, and grew up going to county fairs and are now sharing that magic with your kids, this map of 2011 PA fairs may come in handy.

Who is going to go to the most fairs this summer?

The PA State Farm Show is the last one noted on that online brochure, and is held in January (2012).

and instead of carnival rides, you get a life size sculpture made out of butter!

I hope you are at the Schnecksville Fair this week. Although they won't have fireworks this year.

I love that fair, I spent my "wedding eve" there.

Since most PA County fairs showcase 4H shows, livestock contests, vegetable, flower contests, etc. Our "State Fair" is a huge farm show. I'm not a big farming type, but it is a great event and the kids always enjoy it.

We do have two huge county fairs on each side of the state.

Bloomsburg Fair and The Butler Fair

Pa has some great fairs all over. I was at the Butler fair several years ago and was impressed with the agricultural exhibits. They had more horses than I'm used to seeing. The Bloomsburg fair is very big with a lot of agricultural and natural exhibits.
Even our small fairs have a lot to see. The Oley fair is a community fair but is bigger than some county fairs. The Reading Fair isn't what it used to be but has a fair amount of rides and attractions. The Allentown Fair is very big as is the York Fair.
Then there's the Kutztown Folk Festival which is getting ready to open. Thats one of the biggest craft fairs in the country. No rides but smaller kids should be entertained with some of the entertainment.
Check out the Renaissance fair in Lancaster at Hope Winery, if you're into that kind of thing or just enjoy wine and food.

We went to Kutztown Folk Festival today. Great time. Kids had a blast jumping off the huge piles of hay they had in the center of the fairgrounds.
