Good, I'm glad there's a choice. Put a big sign up outside: Smoke Here, No Smoking Here. I currently live in NJ. We don't have that choice. After the smoking ban passed, my husband and I stopped by an American Legion Post for some lunch one day. There were a half dozen veterans, older guys killing time in the bar area. One by one they went outside to have a cigarette.

I agree they are veterans, I always felt a non smoking section and a smoking section was fair, as non smokers in line didn't care where they would be seated. Oh well, i don't want to make this into another anti-smoking topic Thanks for the post

I know this is an old thread, but the link which lists the bars where smoking is allowed no longer works, and I tried for a while to find a list on Google. Does anyone have a good link, or is there some general rule to guess by looking at an establishment? For example corner bars that have wings, would they prohibit smoking since they sell food?

Whether they can allow smoking is based upon how much of their sales are food, not sure of the exact percentage of sales but the cutoff is something like 15 to 20%.

I thought Pittsburgh had a total smoking ban (regardles of State regulations) similar to Philly and NYC.

Philly doesn't have a complete ban. I wandered into Locust Bar last summer and folks were smoking up a storm. It was Quizzo night and the place was full of Nacho chomping students... and a few dangerous looking individuals, LOL.
