Hi Members,

I am in Pittsburgh on a long term onsite assignment. I am here on an L1 Visa with a work permit.
Currently i am staying in hotel since I don’t have other options of commuting to office as public transport is not there over here.
I am applying for driver’s license in PA so that I can buy a car after that and move to an apartment. But for applying for the drivers license, address proofs are required, which I don’t have the ones which they have mentioned.

The documents which they accept are:
• Current Utility Bills (water, gas, electric, cable, etc.) • Tax Records • Lease Agreements
* Cellular/mobile or pager bills are not acceptable
• W-2 Form • Current Weapons Permit (U.S. citizen only) • Mortgage Documents

I don’t have any of these documents as I am staying in hotel. My company sends my paychecks in my hotel address. That is the only proof which I can produce.

Will I be getting the driving license? Please suggest.

Many Thanks in Advance

Do you have a drivers license from your home country? That would get you started until you establish a residence. I believe you can use your home country licence in the USA for up to a year if I recall.

Thats true but I think the problem lies in being able to register/insure a vehicle. To do that you need a PA licence.
