Mrs. Barber,
You keep mentioning Pike County even though you mention your family living in MD, your husband’s family somewhere in NJ and your husband’s potential job in Bloomsbury, NJ.

Now you want to find out the commute to Scranton from Pike County. Where in Pike County do you want to move and why is Pike County written in stone?

Just to cross Pike County, from Matamoras to the western edge on I 84, would be about 35 miles. A drive from the eastern edge of Pike to Scranton would be about an hour - on a good day. A drive to Bloomsbury, NJ (just guessing) would be at least one and a half hours.

Try not to complicate your lives. Long commutes take away from family time. It sounds as if you have options.

Remember, the highways of PA are in the hills and mountains. Driving there in rain or snow, which there will be plenty of, is not pleasant, to say the least. I hate driving in the mountains for this reason.
