We are relocating to PA from Dallas, TX because of my husband's work. He will be working in Lansdale, PA. I am a native Texan, have lived here for 33 years, and know nothing about PA. My husband is from Wall Township, NJ but doesn't really know much about PA. I would love some information on the best places to live, (within 45 minutes of Lansdale.) We have two children, ages 2 and 7 months. We were looking into the ABE area and focusing in on Macungie??? And a friend recommended Skippack or Collegeville...??? She lives in Berwyn...and I'm pretty sure that it's too expensive for us. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! We are looking forward to this new adventure!

You should post this in the Philadelphia section if the moderator doesn't move it over there.

Actually you are looking at an area between Philadelphia and the Lehigh Valley so you probably posted in the right place to draw both sets of posters. I would suggest you look right in Lansdale. There's no reason to commute to very similar places with comparable schools. Lansdale has the advantage of not being so expensive as places closer to the city, but it does have a train station. It has a very nice downtown and the outskirts are pretty rural. Not sure why you would commute.

Collegeville is not very nice... I went to visit it because it is rather cheap (compared to Malvern, Paoli, wayne etc.). I got there and there is no town just a few strip malls and busy roads. I really didnt like it. Also driving through we went through a rough town. I dont like being close to rough areas. Check out the Main Line, its nice but expensive.

You drove through a "rough town" near Collegeville?? What town would that be? The OP is going to be working in Lansdale, which does have a very nice downtown.
