Unfortunately, the US needs to find a way to get out, but to also preserve the little bit of freedom these people have achieved. I don't think it's something that will be done and over in a few months or even years.

Well said. I'm inclined to agree with this assessment, except for the word unfortunately.

I guess Dubya and Co. gave up looking for him since Iraqi oil was more important than finding the one responsible for taking down the twin towers and killing thousands of Americans.
I am SOOO with you.. Bush was a diasaster that this country elected into office TWICE>. .. For awihle, I agreed that we needed to go into Iraq.. let's get rid of Sadaam Husein (although I felt he had nothign to do with Al Queda, I did think that if he did have weapons of mass destructino and was avoiding inspections he had smoething to hide and needed to be dealt with.. I felt it was important to do what we say.. in other words, do what you were supposed to do or suffer the consequences) HOWEVER.. the way Bush went into Iraq was.. well pretty damend retarded!! Al Queda is NOW in Iraq because we didn't secure the borders and let them seep into the country. T

And..I think Bush is just a puppet and the country was really run by that idiot Dick Chenney... Bush managed to drive the value of the dollar down (with the botched Iraq situation) AND alienate the rest of the world!

I, for one, can't wait for a democrat to get in that office, particularly Hilary Clinton. I don't care who gave who a you know what, Bill Clinton was an AWESOME president and she was right there by his side.. NOW.. she gets to be the one in the seat with HIM and HIS experience by her side. She'll get us out of Iraq AND smooth relations with the rest of the world.. because she has their respect and the experience as does Bill! That and maybe finally we can fix the healthcare system in this country once and for all!

Watch.. as soon as Bush is out of office the dollar will start to rise again in value!!

Personally, I'm not thrilled with any of the presidential candidates for 2008, both democrat and republican. I can't vote for any candidate who supports the right to kill babies (i.e., abortion) and it appears that all of them on both sides support the right to butcher unborn human beings in the name of convenience.

I certainly hope that isn't your only criteria for voting someone into office!! My goodness..

And.. just for argument sake.. I, for one, would never chose abortion nor do I feel that it is a good decision to have one.. but who am I or anyone for that matter to make that choice for someone else.. this is a free country and every person has a right to chose what is right for themselves. I think "pro choicers"are given the stigma that they are FOR abortion, however nothing could be farther from the truth.. i just feel that every person has the right to make that decision for themselves and to live with their consequences..

Unfortunately it is apparent that many American's forget that they need to seperate church from state.. hence the reason why Bush was elected president twice!!! If you look at the states that Bush won.. they are all in the bible belt! And that's not to say that people who didn't vote for Bush are not religious or spiritual.. BUT.. you have to look well beyond that stuff and see who can do the best for this country, regardless of your personal religious beliefs!

Everything goes in cycles.. and we have just had 8 years of a Republican president .. now.. it will cycle back to a Democratic president who will once again repair the mistakes of the Republican president Bush!!!!

Oh.. and until now.. I was an independent..but I so want Hillary to win, I'm registered so that I can vote in the primary and make sure she gets on the ticket.

Abortion is murder, plain and simple. It is the intentional ending of another (denfenseless) human being's life. It has nothing to do with religion...a simple biology lesson will show that an "aborted" baby feels pain. It is a human being, despite how the pro-abortion people try to dehumanize unborn babies by referring to them as a "glob of cells" or a fetus.

Do you support the right to shoot anyone whom you don't like? Why not? Shouldn't that person be able to "choose" for themselves?

I'm not beating a drum for the republicans either. I dislike Bush over this war, and the republican slate of candidates looks almost as bad as the democrats' socialist lineup of Obama and Clinton. Plus, what have the democrats done to change the course in Iraq since gaining the majority? One word: NOTHING.

It could aslo be stated in these terms: Zilch! Zero! Nada!

I'm not a republican but I did vote for Reagan. He fooled me the first time around, but only the first time. I'm not a democrat either, but I have voted more frequently for the democrtatic candidate based on my interpretation of the lesser of 2 evils principle.

Sorry if I ruffled your feathers with the social irresponsibility judgement. I really should have prefaced it with IMO.

Actually, I thought it was SWB who said that. I didn't even notice the above post until today, though I saw the rest of the thread. But no, most people don't like being told they are irresponsible. And honestly, as long as the US population increases, there will be a need for new housing units. The increase will never be even, e.g. more people will come to Colorado than leave, so there will always be a need for more housing for them. Maybe someday our population will level off like Europe's, but even then, we seem to like different housing than they do. Unlike our friend SWB, I'm not crazy about infill. I have no desire to live in an urban area, be it Scranton or Denver.
