Hello, I plan on buying an airstream and renovating it and then living in it full time with my fiance. We also plan on purchasing a small plot of land or maybe renting a piece of land. We aren't sure yet. My question is would it be allowed to place our airstream and live in it full time? We're most likely going to be using solar panels and an composting toilet. We haven't figure out what we're going to do for water, but we'll figure out something. If anything we'll have to find a piece of land that has rv hookups maybe. But our goal is to find a piece of land, own or rent, and place our airstream on it and live in it full time. Do you think this is very doable? Any issues you think we would face?

You would have to look at local zoning laws to see if that's possible. I don't think it is in my area. I found this older thread where the poster asked similar questions: //www.city-data.com/forum/penns...ania-tiny.html

I don't see why it would be a problem in many rural areas. The big issue is going to be sewage and if there is no septic system already in place. $$$ That is going to be your biggest hurdle.

As a fellow Airstreamer, I salute thee!

Would love to know if you found out whether or not you could do this in your area of interest.
My hubby and I have been basically renting space in trailer parks for the 1 year we've lived in Freyja.
1 cold winter in Iowa, next mild winter here in South Carolina.

Default What do we need to do to live in Airstream full time?

Hello, my husband and I plan on buying an old Airstream, renovating it and loving in it full time. We absolutely want to stay in Pennsylvania. It could be anywhere here in Pa as long as it's in Pa. What exactly would we have to do or talk to in order to be able to live in our Airstream full time? I know there is lots of red tape to cross, but we're up for the challenge. This is our main goal we hope to achieve this year. Any we would be much appreciated!
