Correction: Fetterman said he wished he could free them. He would not have the power to do so as a U.S. Senator.

However, as a Chairman of the Board of Pardons in PA he has done whatever he can to free criminals.

Since when is a Tweet from the RNC considered credible?

The Tweet contains video of Fetterman speaking his own words. So spin the message but don't attack the messenger.

The desperation and lack of attention to detail is what makes the Oz campaign so pathetic. You guys did read about Oz’s new stance on shortening prison sentences, right? Anyways, some facts for those who care: https://www.factcheck.org/2022/08/fa...-crime-stance/

Right. Why would we believe Fetterman's own words?

The problem with Fetterman isn't really his stroke nor even the fact that he wants to free 1200 prisoners, but every time I hear him say that he wants to remove the filibuster, the same filibuster that actually helped Obama being about the 2010 Health Care Act. A filibuster is when the Senate or House member talks incessantly about something else other than the bill and tries to "kill the bill" by talking about any other matter other than the bill that's being proposed.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filibuster#Senate

If Fetterman is thinking of getting rid of a maneuver that's been used and set in place since the country has been founded or whether he wants to get rid of the 3/5 rule which allows 3/5 of the Senate or the House to move on is still very vague to me, that's not going to get my vote.

He needs to focus on how he's going to help get the PA's economy back on track, how he's going to help lower taxes among PA's working class and middle class, and how he's going to bring back jobs to PA but I haven't even heard him say that and now with only one debate when even The Washington Post has said that Fetterman should debate even more, is putting the bind on Fetterman and this only debate is the last chance Fetterman has in getting any credibility.

If Fetterman performs subpar or he performs poorly, the US Senate seat in PA will be another hold for the GOP and it's Fetterman's make it or break it moment!!!

Did you listen to his own words? Do you know the specific law in Pennsylvania that he takes issue with? Did you read the article I linked, or does everything have to fit into a ten word sound bite?

But they spun even those in that Tweet. Nowhere in that clip did he specifically mention what crimes the 1,200 people committed. He was, however, saying that a holistic review of their time served would likely lead to their release.

After reading that article, I have to wonder how anyone who doesn't get off on fearmongering could oppose Fetterman's stance on reducing our prison population.

He isn't saying what he would do; he's saying what's possible* — and he's citing a state Secretary of Corrections appointed by the most conservative Republican governor the state has had in the modern era, Tom Corbett.

If someone is no longer a threat to society, why keep them in prison?

*Though it is clear that he would indeed work to make the possibility a reality.
