Greetings fellow Pennsylvanians. Planning on a road trip on the fabled Rt. 6. My gateway to the region will be Williamsport. From there, I can take either 15 or 287 north and end up at Wellsboro. Which one is more scenic? How do they differ? What is the geography like? Wooded or rolling hills? What about going north from Lock Haven?

Definitely if you are looking for the more scenic drive then 287 is the way to go. It's a winding two lane road.

15 is a four lane type highway and has some scenery but there is also construction going on right now to prepare it to become I-99.

I agree - 287 is a beautiful drive, rolling hills, wooded. Route 15 would be faster but much less scenic. I'm not sure about going north from Lock Haven. I think that would be scenic also, but I'm not as familiar with those roads.
