Maybe you should change your screen name, it sures makes the area where your home is seem bad

Default Really?

I guess going to be with my husband where he has been tranferred to is bad?
Takes all kinds. My house listing speaks for itself. My house is fabulous. Everyone should be as blessed as I have been. Thank you for your concern.

No, Penciltucky makes it sound like you are comparing that part of Pennsylvania to Kentucky. That could be a turn off to a perspective buyer.

I am proud to live in the rural South of PA and I call it Penciltucky. It is not an insult. My neighbors and I, when we sit out on our porches at night, breath in the clean air and talk about what grass seed we are going to buy. We have a lot of similiarities to Kentucky many race horses are born and bred in Southern Chester County including the late great Barbaro. Are you implying there is something wrong with Kentucky?
I am not afraid to turn anyone off since this place speaks for itself. You with want to live rural and country or not. Nothing I can say about it is going to matter since my realtor sells the house not me.

Sorry, but I have heard people use this term disparagingly - people from Philly and some of the other big cities often say that between Philly and Pittsburgh is "Pennsyltucky" - and it isn't meant as a compliment! So fopt65 is not just grabbing his ideas out of the air - I thought it was meant to be negative as well, and I'm guessing quite a few others too. We're not trying to attack you, just telling you what many likely infer from your user name, whether you meant it that way or not.

That's a new one, attacking someone because of their user name. How much longer are people gonna rant about one person's user name?

Anyway, I'll think that I will user Pennsyltucky or Penciltucky, however you guys wanna spell it. I will use it in a bad way, of course, since I hate PA and Kentucky, if you already haven't noticed.

Wanna Leave Penciltucky, don't give in to these people and change your user name. If people have such a problem with it, they can leave, lol

Anyway, I've had bad experiences in this part of the state. In this part, It's as if I'm in the deep south. From the funny looking people with the gap teeth, to the Aryan brotherhood in Lancaster. They talk in strange southern accents too, which is really stange since it is still technically in the north. It looks like North Carolina, but with more hills. And then you have those crazy amish people that come out of nowhere and they think they own the road. WTF? Get off the road. My car can run your buggy off the road and break it into a million pieces before you can blink. Plus I can't really see them after I come over the rolling hills and they are right there. I won't even talk about Gettysburg. That was a shock in itself. Even further north, in Perry county, you have alot of hillbillies up there. It's really different from other parts of PA. That is basically the assessment on those counties. Don't know much about Chester county, but it basically sounds the same as the other two. Try moving into the northeastern part of the state, but don't go into Scranton. Alot of people like it in NEPA, can't imagine why, except for the mountains, which drains your gas mileage and puts stress on your transmission. ARRRGGG!

At least in NEPA, there aren't many hillbillies. You mostly have the wannabee gangsters and new yourkers who come in and try to take over. They already did with their affiliate minor leage baseball team. Stupid New York Yankees.

Sorry, don't know much about Western PA, other than what people say on here. Basically the same story as the rest of the state, economically depressed and desolate.

Please read more carefully before being so defensive! Since when is telling people about one's impressions "attacking" them! A user name can and does influence what others think as all we have here is the written word. Like it or not, "Pennsyltucky" has been used in a derogatory way. So sorry for saying it - I didn't come up with it! NOWHERE has anyone said she should change her username! <holding arms over head to protect from blows>

I am not changing. If I did I would change it to Born in New Joisy or Moving To Northcackilacky. I only have fun if people notice me. It is my mother's fault. Can we talk?

I'm glad you can take it all in the spirit with which it was meant... not too seriously! That's one thing I don't like about the written word... it can be hard to convey the subtleties one could if one were speaking. I honestly don't think you should change it either! Never crossed my mind! Hey, there have been numerous times I have been humming the theme from "Deliverance" in certain areas... you know, the banjo duet... all in good fun. I apologize if the above posts were too serious.
