looking for any info on my father (name, brother, Columbia)

i have been trying to find my dad for a few years now, and my mom wont tell me anything other then his name, Doug Sherer, and all i know is that me and my brother are fully related so he had to have been in the west kootenay area of british columbia from at least summer 1996 to january 1999, any info would be appreciated, thats all i know about him at this time, since my mom wont tell me anything else about him
