I'm looking for my biological father who according to my genetic matches is likely from Colombia (Pamplona or Bucaramanga perhaps), possibly Venezuela. His name as I understand is Josue Gomez (I know, very common) and he would be about 60 yrs old now, give or take. I've attached a photo of him from 35 yrs ago. He was in the US and Canada as a shipping/dock worker back then.
I signed up with 23andme and found his background is Colombian (possibly Venezuelan) but for all I know he may be in the United States. With some of the connections I have made I have narrowed down some possibilities:
Family Surname Connections: Vargas, possibly Ramirez
Associated Locations: Pamplona, Bucaramanga, Barranquilla, and Bogota (Colombia); Venezuela (no specific town)
Work: Worked for the shipping line Fillette-Green around 1978-82 (at least), and worked out of Panama City, Florida and Newfoundland, Canada (among other ports) - Fillette Green works the Gulf Coast of the United States, so he could have worked out of Tampa, Mobile, Gulfport, New Orleans, or Houston.
My biological mother was Sandra "Sandy". She died in June 2014.
Hence one of my problems. I've tried to edit/enhance his photo, maybe this will show a few more details though it has more speckles too.
