Our dad James Vernon Halstead married Christopher’s mother Regina Steinebach while he was in the service. They married in 1977 and had Christopher on 11-1-1977. They divorced on 3-11-1979. I believe Chris was born in Mannheim. May have been born on the army base. I also believe he may have gotten German citizenship later and possibly changed his name when he turned 18. Unsure if he may have taken his mom’s maiden name or if there may have been a man in Chris’s life he thought of as a father. Dad recently passed and I would like to possibly have a relationship with Chris or at the least let him know he has 7 siblings and a nephew. Does anyone know how I can locate him? I looked at sites but the ones for Germany are in German and the English ones are only for states that I have seen. I have letters that Chris and Regina wrote to dad. I have addresses and some international phone numbers from the 1970’s and 80’s. I also know Regina had a twin sister that passed away in a car accident. Chris’s middle name is Michael. Just need someone to help put me in the right direction. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
That is exciting. Crazy...
I think that means me.
The post is a bit older, I know, but it wasn't easy to find either.
Mostly because I wasn't looking for it at all.
Let's call it a coincidence with a bit of a delay.
So, if you read this message in this forum, get in touch. I tried to send you a direct message, but that doesn't work. So I sent you a friend request, but I don't know if you will receive it.
Anyway, I will wait.
Thank you for your advice. I have already been able to do it. It was due to the settings. Adjusted something on the time zones and then it worked that I could send a direct message.
Now I just hope that I also get a response. Now I am already searched but not found/heard.
Come on and read your emails

Welcome Chris! I do hope your sister comes back.
I think I found one of your sisters on Ancestry but I do not have a paid account there to send her a message. Maybe someone reading can do that. I'm going to make a thread in the genealogy section to see if I can find someone to contact the tree owner.
I found his obituary, link is below, it lists your siblings but names are common Once I wake up more I will try to search Facebook. I think it's easier to contact the Ancestry tree owner, and you should contact the funeral home. Link is below. Ask if they can contact your sister Paulette Walker to ask her to contact you or to come back to city-data.
