I am looking for my birth father - mainly for medical reasons. He knows my mother was pregnant, but left before I was born - so he doesn't know if he has a son or daughter, or that I was adopted and brought to the states.
I finally have his DOB of 9/26/1940. He was stationed at Ft. Skelly, Regensburg, Germany in 63-64 (maybe longer, but left definitely in 1964). When he left Germany he was stationed (at least temporarily until maybe discharge) with the Howitzer Battery, 3rd Recon Squadron, 11th Armored Calvary (A/C), Ft. George Meade, MD.
I have an RA number only with the first 2 digits being 15 which means he enlisted somewhere in the Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana, Kentucky area. I don't know if he is from there originally, or had just moved there before enlisting.
I have seen his first name spelled Monty or Montie, and he used the nickname (signed his name and picture as Ricky).
I don't want anything from him that he is not willing to give, or his family should he have more than me. I have his picture if you think it's a good thing to post I will. I am on CD daily for the next few weeks anyways.
Thanks for any help, and if I think of anything else, I will update this post.
I have found him! I am thankful to whomever quick rep'd this post so I could find this original posting and state that I have found my father! Don't give up hope people, because honestly my dad was looking for me too and I looked for 25 years and did find him - along with many more family members. Now we can look forward to meeting and getting to know each other.
That's wonderful, sounds like a very happy reunion is in the works. Congrats to all (incl. those who helped bring it about).
