Does anyone have HSA bank suggestions for the self-employed?

A web search turns up tons.

Criteria:
- online contribution transfer from checking account into HSA
- credit card which deducts from my account
- no monthly fees
- percentage interest

Thanks

Did some research here and it appears the major banks have them. It's odd though that some of them have much higher fees than others. Bank of America is $4.50 per month while Chase Bank is $2.50 per month. Why would I choose Bank of America then?

Anyway, Chase looks like the best option at the moment.

hsabank.com is probably one of the best. I believe it deals the most with individuals, rather than companies setting up HSA accounts for their employees. I think the accounts at BofA, etc are more geared around corporate accounts.

I used to like HSABank but they started nickeling and diming you for everything. Does your insurance carrier have a deal going with anyone?

Have you checked with your bank? Often banks will waive fees for HSA's if you have other accounts with them or if your balance is over a certain amount.

I use Bank of America and they have an HSA. Their fee is currently $4.50 per month but the interest rate is 1.5%. Chase charges $2.50 per month and their interest rate is .45%. If I do some math it appears BOA is the better deal if balance reaches over $3600, whereas with Chase I would need to reach a balance of over $6500 to break even.

I called BOA and they said the fee exists regardless of balance. I haven't checked with Chase yet.

I found a link with some HSA comparisons.

American Chartered Bank meets all of your qualifications. I have my HSA with them and am very happy.

Health Savings Account (HSA)

Thanks for the input! It appears that is does qualify :-) I am wondering if there is a hidden catch as this is the first one I've seen without fees. I will consider it. Thanks.
