I never use atms that I have to stick my card into because a. they're hard to find (LOL) and b. that happened to me once a looooong time ago and I told myself it wouldn't happen again- ever! I think alot of the newer ones are just swipe and go so I usually put it away before I complete the transaction. And as far as that goes- the new ones are not always so secure, either. I saw this on the news that there was a scam where people where putting card readers on top of the original scanner and so when you swipe it, the thieves have your electronic info and access to your account.

Thankfully, this has never happened to me. Someone else mentioned that in order to get cash, that the card needs to be retrieved first at his/her ATM. That's how the ones at my bank work also. Actually, lately instead of going to the ATM for cash, I try to combine a trip to the store and getting cash back when using the debit card to purchase items. To me, that saves a trip to the ATM.
