Including buying out as much competition as possible. Which leaves me to my next comment. Dump the big banks. Join credit unions and look closely at Canadian Banking.

US Bank is getting in on the fun:

Checking With Choice

Free checking turns into a $7-9 monthly fee.

If your big bank is charging you fees like that, by all means switch to a credit union or another bank that doesn't.

If your big bank doesn't charge you fees, then enjoy the advantages they offer in availability.

I hate the big banks, but I sure do like making money off of them . I wish more people would do the same.

And that gave you the rude awakening huh. Well, such charges have been around for sometime now. Check out credit union while you can. Otherwise pay $5.00 of your money or direct deposit. Big banks have huge overhead cost that must be met through any available means!

Like I already said, I've never paid a fee to them in all the years I've used them.....

But it's possible I'd be willing to pay a cookie fee

If the cookie tray is empty and you walk up to the teller window and ask for a cookie, there will be a Teller Referrel Cookie Fee Charge
