For OP:
Would you rather have a bigger house with room for projects at home, or do you enjoy spending your extra time vacationing elsewhere?

Would you rather have a "nicer" house or more money in the bank?

Do you have retirement plans? Would you like to retire early?

Have you considered the expense of furnishing the house? If you have the bigger house in the more impressive neighborhood, will you want it furnished with more expensive things?

My personal living space requirements can fit in a 8' by 8' by 8' cube. one 4' by 4' by 8' foot with the long axis vertical shower bath room. one 4' by 4' by 8' foot vertical entry room. one 4' by 4' by 8' horizontal bed room living room. one 4' by 4' by 8' horizontal cooking food preparation room. That is the size I want to have. I'd settle for one 4' by 4' by 8' horizontal room for everything (Except potty.)

Dont you need at least one side to be 6'? How would you sleep in a four foot by four foot room?

Read it carefully; the rooms don't all go the same direction. The bed/living room and the kitchen are each 4 ft high, so you must crawl or stoop in these rooms. One must be on top of the other, with a very strong but thin floor underneath. The kitchen must be below to allow for plumbing. The other two rooms are standard height but with 4 x 4 floorspace. I don't think I'd waste space on the entry room, as it has no real function.

Also, I do prefer an indoor toilet.

Actually for fire reasons the kitchen is on top. The indoor bath and toilet are next to it and allow for plumbing through the wall. The entry way allows you to shut the door to the toilet and go from the kitchen to the bed room at the same time. (In case you find someone that will come over that wants a bit of privacy)

The problem is that the wall is not thick enough, unless you increase the dimensions of your cube or reduce the dimensions of your rooms. Or do the pipes go into the shower? Is the toilet inside the shower?

if you make 75,000 each i think 400,000 is too much isn't taxes on it like 10,000 a year. what is that like a 3500 a month mortgage if you lose your job your house will go on foreclosure.

It is actually possible to get a house fairly close to this. XS-House Plans | Tumbleweed Tiny House Company
