I have a checking account and credit card with Chase. First checking account I ever had, actually started as a local bank that was acquired by Washington Mutual and then became Chase when they purchased WaMu. Never had any major issues, but my debit card that used to earn airline miles doesn't anymore and beyond the free checking there are no real benefits.

I also have a checking account, savings account, line of credit, and an auto loan through a credit union. The checking account gives you $0.10 per debit card transaction back. The savings account has pitiful interest, but it only has the required $5 in there. The auto loan is actually what started my relationship with the credit union in the first place, great interest rate on that. The LOC is nice to have just in case, but I don't really use it. The interest rate is about the same as a credit card.

I don't ever go to a branch. I deposit the rare check using the phone app which both Chase and the credit union have. Both car loans with the credit union were done electronically, without ever going to a branch.

The only credit union I'd be eligible to join has poor online functionality. And while the interest rate on their credit cards is less than BOA, they offer no cash reward program for using the card. Since I never run a balance the rate doesn't matter to me and the BOA rewards program I am on gives me 5.25% on gas, 3.5% on groceries and 1.75% on everything else. Unless the CU suddenly ups their game, I'm good where I am.
