At what age did you pull out $5,000 from your wallet and spend it all on one thing?

Money is worthless unless you spend it..

My fiancé and I are 21 and have a combined net worth of over $100k.

I have slightly over $30k in mutual funds. That number was higher but took a hit a few years ago and is slowly making its way back up. My parents forced me to put all birthday money while I was growing up in savings and they invested it for me. It bummed me out not being able to spend it back then, but I'm thankful now. I started working when I was 16 and put most of my earnings into that also and, although I didn't make much, it added up over time.

We have $10k in a combined savings account for emergencies or whatever. That number fluctuates a lot.

Our house is where most of our net worth is. We bought it in November 2012 and got a great deal. We paid $140k and it's worth a bit over $300k after the renovations we've done. That puts us right around $200k at 21.

It's in Stafford which is about 45 minutes south of DC, hense why my location says metro. The house was also unlivable when we bought it.

At the age of 18, except it wasn't $5,000. It was $13,000 and for school.

I bought something for work once (single thing-a software license) that cost $8 million dollars. I'll probably never pass that in real life unless I win the lotto.

26 years old I crossed $100k in net worth. Obviously most of that is in 401k, Roth IRA, and house equity. I have some emergency cash as well

Savings/assets - debt (amt owed on mortgage, credit card, student loan, medical, etc.) = net worth. Right? Just making sure.

That is how I would assume net worth yes. The only non cash or investment asset I count is the house though. No personal items or cars or anything.
