Couple months ago the whole household got notices the slate cards were being changed into freedom cards. Nobody cared. No new cards came. Now we all got notices that our cards were "assigned" from Chase Bank USA to JPMorgan Chase Bank - at crazy high interest rates and an arbitration clause, which , by the way - we are all going to opt out of on principal.
I'm curious if everyone who got this new account terms notice also has a crazy high 18% interest rate -and if you are all opting out of the arbitration?
I just don't understand the merger. I thought Jp Morgan and Chase closed their merger like 19 years ago - so what's new? I'm thinking of just closing the cards altogether. We barely ever use them and at that rate -won't be using them.
pretty much irrelevant as we never pay any interest ....
well for the most part , ha ha ha ..... i went paperless on our chase account and never realized my wife's amazon card which turns out is issued by chase stopped sending a bill .... so we ended up paying 8 cents in interest on a 6.00 charge after chase sent us a missed payment notice .
luckily no late fee or reporting issues ... so it is the first 8 cents in interest we paid in two decades .

The only way any card user is able to Opt out of the arbitration is - To close the account. That is standard in the industry.
I'm surprised the good ole boys haven't chimed in on "hey if you pay it off every month" the interest rate won't matter. My response is: Hey If you pay cash, interest doesn't matter either. So lets deal with the real issue. the interest rate is to high and most who want to pay get more fees then carter has liver pills.
Jp Morgan/Chase Merged years ago. (year 2000) according to the SEC. The bank industry will sell off its parts then rebuy them back. So wait it out.
i want to thank them for my free up coming trip to chicago .. a five star hotel and air fare for a week and we had enough in points left for some excursions .
I have no clue what the interest rate is for any of my credit cards. It could be 1,000+% and I would not care. No bank will ever receive $0.01 from me for interest or fees.
Each month I collect cash back and other rewards. Basically, I have a negative interest rate.

I'm a deadbeat (to them).
Well, except that they keep offering us new cards and dangling sign-on bonuses in front of us!
I just checked spending on my Fidelity card in 2018 (straight 2% cash back, no annual fee). It was over $35K. They're probably doing pretty well on what they get from the merchants.
lol at poverty thread... don't be that guy that does poor choices. No self respecting adult that makes proper/responsible financial choices will ever carry a credit card balance past due.
