Quicken was once an excellent program. No more. If you have found a decent alternative to Quicken, please share.

I'd blame Skylar White.

'KBH Investor Accounting' uses an option terminology of "Buy to Open" with "Sell to Close" and "Sell to Open" with "Buy to Close".

The software also does a year-to-date mark-to-market accounting as a performance measure. The mark-to-market accounting combines realized positions with unrealized positions and is not a tax accounting. However, there is a realized book and a supplemental application that prints out that book in certain formats. Wash sale accounting is not included but not required of trader-status.

In all the software has a portfolio book, a transaction input book, a register book, a mark-to-market book, and a realized book.

One note: Get the link for the software download and change it to "https".

Oh, to account fractional cryptocurrency, scale with a 10^x multiplier before input
.

I still use it, but I use the last stand-alone version which is a few years old. I tried using Mint and it just doesn’t do what I want. I’m very detailed and I want the full features of Quicken. I don’t use any of the investment part of it though - that I can see in Personal Capital. I use Quicken to track/categorize my expenditures. I’m kind of picky about that. I like being able to go back and see, for instance, what did I spend on landscaping last year…stuff like that. I know most people have no use for that sort of thing.

Same here but I'm disgusted that you have to buy it every year for what, almost $60? I found a way around that. Rather than renew I buy it on sale at Office Depot or Newegg for around $30 and input the new product code into mine. Avoid buying a box that mentions "New User" you can't update your subscription with that. You can only use it if you create a new login and password, then look for the saved file on your pc and upload it to the new account which is too much trouble for me. You can use an old version but you can't download your bank data with it.

Some may use Money in Excel

In June 30 Money in Excel is going away. Microsoft is partnering with Tiller,

Not sure if there is a program in Google.
