It seems to be pretty common for adult children in their 30s, and even mid-to-late 20s to be giving financial help to their parents.

I know none, personally. It's far more likely for parents to be helping out their 30 and 40 somethings from what I've seen.

I have.
They have a fairly decent net worth but choose to be somewhat luddite-ish. My Dad needed help doing some roth rollovers but had no clue how to do them over a phone or snail mail. I also shared some of mathjak's portfolios with both of them and got them to do some serious rebalancing.

What do you mean by "financial help"?
Are you talking about advice on investments or tax preparation?
Or are you talking about loaning or giving money?

Investment Advice? yeah, because every parent wants their kids to know the kids are smarter (joking).

As for giving money, if a 30 year old is giving money to their 50ish parents, it's because they're paying rent while living at home trying to pay off student debt.

When I was in my early 20s, I stayed home for several years and paid rent and a utility because my parents needed the help. Today, I offer financial help to my mom from time to time, especially with medical bills (I am the highest salary of her 7 kids), but she usually declines. My dad lives two hours away and is homeless, but declines my offers to live in my spare room. He's fine, clean, sober, so I don’t push it. I think he’s just gotten used to his living situation and doesn’t want to leave the area.

Please cite your source, as that is NOT "pretty common".

I know of none.
In fact, the opposite is true.
Some parents are still helping their 20- and 30-something children in some capacity.

It’s usually the reverse that is true.
