I've heard going back a long time that in the future we won't have cash in our pocket. Everything you get and spend will be on a card. How you might want to "withdraw" all of your savings (example might be $35,000) not sure how you would get all your $ at one time. Even now some banks have daily limits.
-------------
No matter what they say, it's not something that will help you.
If you don't take the action steps shown below
The FEDNOW Digital Dollar will only give them more control.
Control over your retirement funds
Control over how much money you can send or receive
Control over how much you spend
Control over what you buy

Wow, paranoia! I'm hearing just the opposite on the cash part. Been reading several stories about some places mainly restaurants, giving you discounts for paying with cash instead of card so they won't have to pay those card company service charges.

Heck, I never have cash in my wallet NOW.

And yep, some places offer cash discount, but my debit card meets that requirement.

Merchants are charged fees no matter which card you use. There's no distinction on our side.

I doubt this. Merchant credit card processing fees are only 1-2% usually. Cash discounts to customers would offset any savings. They likely do it for tax-avoidance.

The Federal Reserve CBDC is what we will eventually be switching to: https://www.federalreserve.gov/cbdc-faqs.htm

There's a million articles and YouTube videos on it, ranging from support to conspiracy theories; the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

That helps remove the risk of robbery, especially a problem for food trucks

Debit card fees are something like 0.05% + 21 cents per transaction if the transaction is performed as a debit and not a credit card. Credit card fees are a percentage that is higher.

Apparently you are correct, don't know why I thought debit cards were fee free.
