“Earned income” is generally considered to be received for EMPLOYMENT. I am not employed and the payer on this W2 is not and never has been, my employer.
That’s why this is different. And that’s why I asked the question. I think that is pretty clear. Not sure what you think I “discovered”.


Again, I’ll be asking a couple of tax experts to get my answer.
