I just received a letter in the mail from them stating I have been approved for a FHA insured mortgage of up to 271K @ 5% fixed. (I wouldn't mind refinancing at a lower rate) No closing cost, application fee or anything. It sounds too good to be true therefore it probably is! I've checked the BBB and they have a few complaints but, really not that many for a mortgage company and I can't really find too much info about them. Anyone know anything about them?? Any feedback would be helpful. TIA!

I wouldn't waste any time with this. Anytime you get an approval for something you didn't apply for then it is fishy at the very minimum. Even if they are not scamming you they will probably have a lot of fees. They make money out of you one way or another.

Default Advanced Financial Services

I mulled it over for a while when I got the same piece of mail. Then I called. I am now in the final stages (underwriting) of getting my mortgage
refinanced. I am putting no money down with the exception of $375 for
the home appraisal. It is working out rather well for me since I will be
getting 5.75% as opposed to a "piggyback" with one at 6.75 and the
other at 8.25. It doesn't hurt to try.

I was previously in the mortgage industry in 2003 & 2004; a lady friend of mine in her late 70's didn't know anything
about finance and wanted to refinance her home so I assisted her with the process. I don't quite remember how we
came upon this company but we did (this was in 2009). We worked closely with Craig Z and he was fabulous. It was quick,
easy, and all the numbers and costs were minimal. LaVerne was quite pleased with the outcome. Just wanted to
respond as I see there are replies from those who have had no personal experience with them.

Incidently, our loan was done in the state of WA.
