What I spend on food at the supermarket is hard to figure as the tape always includes household things like cleaning supplies.
The bottom line on the tape usually averages about 100 per week for two for everything. When there is a big sale on meat, I stock up. It makes a big difference!

I think we probably spend around $125.00 or more a week for 2. That would include everything like soap and stuff like that. My husband does the grocery shopping but I think it's around that.

Don't know how we did it but a few years ago when my husband was sick and finances were very low, we spent $20-25 a week for 4 adults. Needless to say, our food was not that nutrishous (but we made sure we prayed over each meal!) One month we got food stamps to get us over the hump and we thought we were feasting like a king!!! Now we spend around $100 a week for 3 adults and eat out 2-3 times a week...places like Cracker Barrel & fast food.

We (me, the wife and a VERY spoiled kitty Cat) spend about $240/week on groceries. We enjoy food and eat really well. That usually includes a couple of nice steaks, shrimp for the kitty cat (as well as Fancy Feast, Sheba and other good brands) We seldom eat junk food; my wife is an awesome cook. We buy all our food at a locally-owned grocery because we love their service as well as their food selection and feel like we get great value despite them not having the cheapest prices in town. We alsways have breakfast out on Saturday morning and usually go out 1-2 times per week. Bob Evans, Carrabas and Outback are among our favorites. Oh, and Meadowlark (a local place) is also a favorite.

That figure is way low, however, I guess it really depends on what you're eating.

We are a family of five: 2 adults, 3 boys (6,4 & 2) and I spend on average of $800/month at the grocery store. About $150/week plus trips here and there to Trader Joe's at about $50 a trip.

I buy lots of fresh produce and we like to eat well, so I guess that costs more.

We shop at Harris Teeter, Sam's and local produce markets. Our computer said we spent $435 for the past month on groceries, but we also withdrew $100 from bank teller machines. That would be for a couple of meals out and farmers market purchases. I think this has gone down since I retired. It is really great to have the time to buy when we need it. I would have thought it would be between $150 and $200 a week. Great!

You deserve a medal for feeding 3 boys. I remember seeing my son's friends mother in the grocery store a lot when they were both teens. I hadn't seen her for a long time, then ran into her one day in the grocery store and we both had shopping carts running over. I told her my son would be home from college that week end and she said her son would be too. We looked at each others carts, laughed, and walked on. I really don't know where they put it, but it takes a lot of groceries to make a baby go from 21 inches long to 6 feet tall.

My husband and I spend $150 a week on food and household items. We buy all of our groceries online and don't shop in bulk. We eat meat/chicken about 2 times a week and that's typically right after we shop since I don't like to freeze meat. We both work full time and eat lunch out 4 times a week, bringing lunch to work about once a week. We only buy organic dairy and meat products, and some organic produce.

My sister and I spend about $300 a month on food. We shop at Trader Joe's (it kind of like Farmer's Market). We eat healthy and don't eat alot of junk food. I save a little on the groceries since my sister is third shift and gets her breakfast at a local 24hr spot on her way to work. We also like to cook big meals and it can last about 2-3 days. I also have to throw in an additional $25-30 extra for our dogs since we get them the expensive brand dog foods and treats. They are so spoiled, sometimes I think my dogs eat better than my sister and I.
