There are at least two reptile rescues in my area. Try checking on Craigslist to see if they are advertising.

Call the local humane society and ask if they know of any reptile rescues.

Any small museums in your area? Sometimes they have small animal exhibits. Or maybe the high school biology teacher.

Also, on a small part of the terrarium, there must be lower heating because leopard geckos are cold-blooded animals and without heating they will not be able to digest food.
Check with local vets. They may know of local rescues that take reptiles or may have a client who keeps them. Check for bulletin boards at pet supply shops; post a "free to good home" ad or see if anyone else is looking for a pet. Yes craigslist is a possibility, but be careful. Lots of clueless wannabe pet owners and scammers use it. Check gecko husbandry web forums. There are quite a few as they are popular pets. Here's a link to an active one:

Geckos Unlimited

Often they'll have a classified/adoption section, or some members might be able to give you a local resource contact.

Hopefully you'll be a little less "spontaneous" in future.

Check the dates of thread posts. The OP probably found a home for that gecko more than 6 years ago.

My daughter had one of these. We put an advertisement on her K -12 school bulletin board. School bulletin boards are an option for any pet. We used it advertising a horse.
