I heard a woman on NPR crying because she left her cat behind in the tower collapse. So sad. I don't know if I would have run out or gathered up my cat first. That can take time because when scared she runs to a corner behind a pile of CDs and a chair so it would take a lot of time to get her. I would never forgive myself if I left her though. Here's a story about Coco the cat. I hope they can eventually get Coco and the other animals.
From what I understand the cat was found in recently demolished condo by dynamite during inspection for this reason, owners were not allowed in,and was said cat was reunited with owner.
Many animals died that could have been saved. Cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, fish, etc. Really pissed me off that the animal rescuers were not allowed to rescue them. Come on, even during 911 we were allowed to rescue pets from buildings deemed unsafe. Lets be honest, the people in charge just didn't give a s***.
My faith in humanity, mainly because of those who think they are god, is broken. So simple to say yes, do the rescues, but too much power because of cowards who are too afraid to confront the ones in charge.
Florida has many positive characteristics but one of its major problems is the number of ambulance chasers in the state and the effect they have on day to day life. Stories like this are the result.
Lots of unanswered questions, I am thinking they were trying to cover up the truth. Apparently it’s safe for demolition crews to be walking around several floors up and down the building to cut or jackhammer walls to insert explosives in the columns in order to make a implosive demolition successful but yet not safe for rescuers to properly search the building?
If the building was really that unstable as they mentioned and would be knocked down by merely people walking inside or blown over 45 mile per hour winds TS, wouldn’t they tear it down from the outside instead Ie claws, wrecking balls, or pulling with cables? No need for an expensive implosion job that require a good amount of interior work in an unstable building, The building had went through many hurricanes Including cat 5s in the past including Hurricane Andrew. Btw implosions were almost never used to demolish quake or disaster damaged buildings that are endanger of further collapse.
