I'm looking to move somewhere between my two nieces who reside in Plymouth Meeting and Ambler. I'd like to be able to reach them in say, a half-hour by car. Any interesting towns you could recommend that have the look and feel of Media or West Chester with plenty to do for around $350K? Thanks.

Ambler and Plymouth Meeting are only about 10 minutes apart from each other, so there's not a whole lot in between them. You could live in Ambler or Conshohocken and still be within your time frame. For that matter, you can even find some places in Chestnut Hill in that range.

Ambler itself, North Wales, Jenkintown and Souderton/Telford come to mind.

I've always liked Ambler. Parts of it are still a little run down, but the overall feel and convenience are great, plus there is a train station in the middle of town.

When you say quaint, I immediately think of Royersford. Limiting this to Montgomery County, I'd say definitely yes to Ambler and maybe Glenside. Pennsburg (northern part of Mont Co), and Souderton and Harleysville qualify, too, but these last three are lacking in the 'things to do' category.

Conshohocken is sort of quaint, and maybe adjacent areas like Whitemarsh Township and Lafayette Hill qualify, too.

how often do you visit your nieces because media really isnt that far from either town you listed. 30ish minutes with average traffic, Especially if you north/northeast/east of media in the upper providence area, then your commute wouldnt be that much and you could still get to media in 5-10 minutes

Upper Providence still hasn't heard of realistic prices in their real estate, I'm afraid.
