Which Schools in Philly are the best and the worst, crime wise and educational wise. If you have a list of the best / worst that would be great. Pictures would be good aswell. I have friends moving into the city near me but not at my school. I don't know yet if they are going to public or private so give me both if you can, thanks.

Well, I worked in the public school system. As for the best-I sure didn't work there. Go online and check out the school grades. See who can actually pass some tests.

The bad...well, not naming names, but I worked at a school close to Temple University, in North Philadelphia, and visited yet another one. Disgrace. Kids fighting every day, stabbing each other with scissors, lockdowns....but, you have to be zoned for your school so it depends on where you live...

Do you enjoy instigating arguments? Or am I just reading your posts the wrong way?

I was thinking the same thing. OP, are you moving? Why all the posts about listing schools, gang areas, racial demographics? If you want to compare schools just go to Schools, High School, Public Schools, School District, Public High Schools - SchoolMatters and plug in the potential schools. If you are from Philadelphia then you could probably answer these questions yourself. Or perhaps I'm just reacting to your screen name.

Sorry if I offended you and yes I am from phila. but I really am not familliar with the schools gang areas and "racial demographics" in my area and I would like to know more about them becuase of the growing problems of bad education and gang violence. Which are both 2 subjects that are very hot right now to discuss especially in philly.

Hm, In a way, yes I do enjoy instigating arguments and hell, who doesnt. And yes you may be reading my post the wrong way because if I was trying to instigate an argument I would say that bush is doing a pretty lousy job of being president.

The last half of your last sentence is the only thing that you and I agree on at this point. But that's a topic for another forum...

Otherwise as a (new?) local, it does appear that you're only looking for the worst in the city, from your questions and comments down to your name.

If you are serious about wanting to know this information for the reasons you state, I suggest you go to Philadelphia Blogs & Forums about Philly (http://www.phillyblog.com - broken link) click on Philadelphia forum, and look at the parenting and education forum.

Also, people might take you more seriously if you had a different "name."
