There is already informal all-door boarding and I rarely see anyone using transfers since everyone has a SEPTA card now.

I think the current routes provide good coverage. I never have to take more than two buses to get where I need to be. Riding public transit is an existential exercise that those of us who do it on a regular basis willingly accept . Hope springs eternal, though.
Thinking about the trip you make to 10th and South for food shopping. You're close to the El. I would take it to 11th St and then the 23 bus, southbound.

It might actually take less time and won't involve vehicular traffic, and bus delays because of it, part of the way.

If there's a way for them to improve that, I would be a happy camper. It can be super frustrating.

Edit to add that 3 buses went by going west while I was waiting so maybe getting out of CC wasn't the issue.
Honestly I rarely ride buses right in Center City. Walking is faster.

Right. But if you're in West Philly you have to wait for them to wade through traffic till they get to the river, hence the delays. Just a theory. They're late getting to 69th Street a lot, so we wait a lot to get them going east. I don't ride them in CC unless I'm going home.

I really want it to be taller than the Residences of the Ritz-Carlton.

In any case East Market is getting close to being finished. Its video display is now working.

And while no one was looking the previously forlorn Paine Plaza next to MSB has been spiffed up with seating, planters and umbrellas.

It won't tower over the Ritz, but it will be taller. I can see it above the Ritz while riding the train from Mt Airy. It's going to be a very impressive building!

I think it will be like 30-50 ft taller, but it is a great building. I can't imagine how angry the residents in the Ritz are about their South views disappearing. That will hurt property values.

Just as the article alludes to, lucrative businesses/talented people are mobile and tend to congregate in already thriving cities with big bucks to back them up. The more Philly can make itself a destination on that circuit, the better.
