I would assume that Market West (Penn Center) and the main business district/financial center are would give you that feeling.

WOW.....that was nice of you to post all of those links. These are just the kind of images I've been wanting to see of Philly. That's another good thing about Philly, it's big but not over the top big and over populated.

15th and Market Without A doubt!

It's so hectic up there. Buses, trains, trollies, it's just the whole nine yards up 15th and Market.

19102 4,705 population

1. Market West 2. Rittenhouse 3. South Broad (Avenue of the Arts area) those are my favorite areas and I think they give the most "big city" feel.

It doesn't give the big city feel, but the parkway is really cool the way it feels so isolated yet is one of the busiest parts of the city. Really neat.

The Ben Franklin Parkway between City Hall and Art Museum gives me that "International City" feeling. Otherwise, anything west of City Hall for about a mile or so gives me the "Big City" feeling. Even Market East does for me between 12th and Broad.
