Jobs moving to the city? Let's hope this is only the beginning.

Hopefully things won't get too lopsided one way or the other. Corporate centers in middle/outer suburban locales like West Chester, Newtown Square, King of Prussia, Warrington, and Mount Laurel provide ease of access to people seeking spacious, family-friendly communities with new construction and good schools at a relatively affordable price.

I think what the state and the cities (both Philly and Pittsburgh) are pushing for is not for the ENTIRE company to relocate to the city, but rather the companies to open second locations in the city so people who prefer the city can work at the city location and people who prefer the suburbs can work at the suburban location. I think that's a great idea. Let's see if any companies do that.

I've been wanting our company to either relocate or rent office space in CC for a while. Our office is in MontCo, but having a location in CC would be great for impressing clients. Sadly, the cost situation makes it cost prohibitive for a company of our size.

Yeah it sucks. There is a ton going on right now trying to lower the business taxes in the city. Your employer may be able to qualify for some sort of tax breaks for opening office space in the city. Have your employer contact the city and see what can be done.
