Is SEPTA the best? (Reading, York: university, fence, light rail)

APTA has given SEPTA the #1 agency award last year and I think it rightfully deserves it. I have like 20 reasons, but I'll mention them later when I have more time to write. Just briefly I'll say that the subway lines have the best frequencies compared to other systems in the U.S. The MFL has better frequencies than New York, Chicago, and DC during non-rush hour periods. I think we also have the best commuter rail. And for an agency that gets zilch funding from the state, SEPTA does EXTREMELY well. If we could get a bit more support, SEPTA would have higher ridership than Chicago's CTA.

Agreed. Septa can't be ranked number one until they at least restore rail service to West Chester and Newton, PA for starters.

Build the Roosevelt Boulevard Subway and connect it to the MFL.

Make the R6 Manayunk R7 Chestnut Hill East and R8 Chestnut Hill West quasi-subway lines with more frequent and later service. Fence in the tracks, build high platforms and ditch the conductors. (Also maybe R7 Trenton and R8 Fox Chase)

Use the Reading Viaduct to build a loop subway line that connects the Museum District with Old City, University City, South Street, Graduate Hospital.

Build the Riverline to run from the Stadiums down Packer and up Delaware Ave.

Extend the BSL to the Navy Yard and maybe even North and West running along Cheltenham Ave.

Bring the 23 trolley back and market it more as a tourist attraction for seeing the sites in historic Germantown, Mt. Airy, Chestnut Hill.

Have one smart card available for use on Patco/SEPTA/NJ Transit.

Then yes, Septa will be in contention for the best.

What a joke that is , all that would be is a slow bus....LRT along corridors like that needs to be grade separated which makes a subway a better choice which was promised.
