Is the MFL ever going to stop at 22nd and 19th? It seems like not stopping here reduces the value of a portion of rittenhouse square.

Highly unlikely IMO. I actually appreciate the fact that there is a built-in express of sorts between 15th and 30th Streets when riding the El. I never found it inconvenient to change trains at 13th heading west or 30th heading east. Between the multiple bus routes on Chestnut and Walnut as well as the trolley stops at 19th and 22nd, I feel that there is more than enough coverage for Rittenhouse Square.

A stop at say 22nd would be good but not mandatory - there are more pressing needs for SEPTA to spend money on

I'd much rather take the trolleys while traveling East and West in Center City anyway. The service is much more frequent since there are multiple lines to choose from and they all stop at 30th, 22nd, 19th, 15th, 13th.

The tunnel was never built with the provision for a station there. You would need to widen the tunnel to build a platform for the El like there is at 30th Street.

the original plan was the trolleys would handle local traffic throughout center city and the el would be express but they ran out of money and truncated the trolleys at juniper st.

I would think 22nd and 19th would be two of the express to locations. I think the trolleys would suffice if they went to the 2nd station.

They should take over PATCO and extend it down locust street into university city. Also the broad line from china town could go down through south philly. An express line during work commute hours to wilmington would be awesome too.

I dunno;except for a Wilmington express train that would be a better value than Amtrak and wouldn't require any new construction, I just don't see the scenarios you'd like to address as being particularly inconvenient. I believe those solutions would save no more than 5 maybe 10 minutes. There are other proposed investments -e.g. a BSL extension to NE Philly and down to the Naval Yard in South Philly - that I'd want to see sooner.

I do believe I recall hearing that they wanted to build a el stop under the American Commernce Center tower, but since that is no longer proposed, I doubt there will be an el stop placed there.

Regardless, the el stops are to close together as it is.
