Perhaps someone can help me out here.

I'm visiting a friend there. I don't know Philly at all. I'm looking for rhe kind of place that truckers might stay at. And, I don't want to be running into tricks and crack heads on my way to the ice machine. I'm looking to spend something like a $100.

Thanks in advance.

Oh, oops. I guess it's Narberth.

I don't have any specific recommendations, but I would see if you can find a B&B in the vicinity. You might find something in your price range at that price. You could try submitting a lowball bid on priceline for 3-star hotels in nearby areas and see if you get lucky. If you'll be there over a weekend, you might find a deal at one of the airport hotels for a lilttle more than $100/nt or maybe even right at $100. It's not tremendously close to Narberth, but not all that far either. Otherwise you need to be willing to spend $25 - $50/nt more or deal with sketchy accommodations if you want to be within reasonable distance of Narberth.

The closest hotel to Narberth will be on City Ave (route 1) and will probably be over 100. They are mostly upscale business hotels to service nearby office buildings. There is a Crown Plaza, a Hilton, a Homewood Suites and a North American Motor Inn (a dump) Narberth is mostly residential and suburban and it's so close to the city center that no one stays in Narberth. Searchs bring up downtown and airport hotels because they are close in miles but not convenient to Narberth. Manayunk Terrace Bed and Breakfast is sort of close but it's 4 star and will be over your budget.
The other choice would be an economy hotel at the airport, Motel 6, Red Roof Inn etc but it will be a half hour ride in traffic.

There are some budget hotels circling the King of Prussia Mall, including a Motel 6 which usually goes for $90 on weekends. But it's still a 15 minute drive to Narberth, and still dumpy. You need to double your budget.
