A few weeks ago I posted with interest in buying in CC for $350.000..No surprise to many of you but I'm not too happy with what I've been seeing. I like (and want) a more neighborhood feel like the areas around Rittenhouse/Washington Sq but again too price when I factor in HOA fees and such..so with this just a few questions:

Is No Libs/Fishtown safe ?, my wife would be walking alone at night sometimes. Also what areas of each have a more quaint neighborhood feel as opposed to the more business area feel that I've found in much of CC.

Thanks very much

Look at the neighborhoods in University City(Spruce Hill, Powelton Village, Clark Park)or South Philly(Bella Vista, Queen Village, Pennsport, East Passyunk), Fairmount, Spring Garden, lower Francisville.

If Chestnut Hill(you probably will not find anything in your price range) and the Mount Airies(east, west) aren't too far away from CC for you might look there.
