Curious to hear from someone who actually does the commute from Media to Center City 8am in and 5pm out... Google maps gives a fairly large range of 30-60 minutes and while I am sure it can certainly vary, I'm looking for a better average. Greatly appreciated if anyone can share there personal experience...

How do you intend to commute? Drive, train(regional rail),trolley/MFL?

The only route I would consider is I- 95 to 476. Possibly Getting off at exit #1 MacDade exit on 476 and take the back roads to Media. There is a heavy bottleneck at 95/476. Traffic can get backed up bumper to bumper all the way from 476 to the Airport(3-4 miles).Once you are on 476 you are in bumper to bumper traffic again to Media which is thankfully only a mile so up 476. On average you are looking at a 45-50 minute commute

I would not even consider Baltimore Pike thru West philly,Landsdowne,Springfield. Too many lights, too much traffic and you get stuck behind trolleys.

Your best bet might be the train. Certainly would cut down on stress of driving during rush hour.

Greatly appreciated... It helps considerably as I don't think I could tolerate that much bumper to bumper traffic every day. The train would be great, but Im actually commuting just north of CC and it would require another walk, a bus ride, and another walk, which adds about 30 more minutes which is a bit too much for me unfortunately. Again, thanks for the info!

My wife does it, I used to. Take the train/trolley. It's about a half hour during peak times, maybe a little more.

there is literally no reason to drive to center city. it is slower (yes, really) than taking the train, and parking can cost an arm and a leg. The wife's employer pays for garage parking and she still doesn't drive downtown because it doesn't make any sense.

If you insist on driving, your options are pretty much 476S to 95N, to 676, or 476N to 76E but no one sane would attempt that last one. I guess it's also possible to try avoiding the highways and taking 291 to the airport and taking back roads but...yeah. Just take the damn train. if you're "just north" of CC, grab uber or lyft to take you a few blocks. chances are you'll still come out ahead.

I live just north of CC and I regularly take the BSL to get to Suburban Station. I then take the Media/Elwyn train to my destination just east of Media. But I'm not doing this like a normal daily commuter would.
