Despite living in Philadelphia most of my life, I'm only familiar with the northern suburbs (Abington, Horsham, Doylestown, MOntgomeryville, Lansdale). Could you please tell me about Newtown Square? For some reason, to me, on Route 3 today, the area looks old and run down. Is it an upscale area, people with lots of money?

Thank you

Aside from that immediate area, most of the 19073 zip code is moderately to highly upscale. The Goshen Road corridor is especially gorgeous.

Newtown Square is generally a very wealthy area and hugely growing township. Hundreds of new homes have/are coming onto the market thanks to some major residential developments. Also neighboring Upper Providence and Edgemont townships are beautiful as well.

Sometimes major traffic corridors have the "rundown" appearance because of older dated looking shopping centers. The same can be said about Route 30 (Lancaster Ave) through Bryn Mawr, when its actually minutes from some of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the country.
