Hello,
Can anyone give me info. about Drexel Hill, mainly I would like to know if a commute to Center City Philly is easy, convenient via bus/train, etc. I do not/will not keep a vehicle. I must live in a walkable area to all amenities, grocery, shopping, mainly transportation. I am interested in buying a home, do not want to much of a suburban feel. Cannot afford to buy in Center City Phil. need a mid-size home, 3/4 BR, 2 bths, etc. do not need garage or huge yard.

Thanks for any input.

SEPTA serves the area pretty thoroughly though I have no idea what the deal is with the strike. I always see busses around the Upper Darby area and know someone who lives there without a car and gets around OK. There is also the trolley too which runs through the area.

I wouldn't say it was walkable as compared to most of Philly, but like I said I know people who live there without a car and they get where they need to be without much of a problem. As for whether or not I would do it, the answer would be no. But that is just because I have no personal experience using mass transit as I have never been without a car. But it does look less convenient in terms of walkability in comparison to Philly.
