I have a group of International Students who will be going to Philly and doing the usual tourist stuff including Independence Hall and of course the Rocky statue! They are arriving via bus and want to make a trip to Jersey so they can photograph the Philly Center from Jersey.
I told them about the Riverlink Ferry but they wanted to know if there is a way to walk across the Ben Franklin Bridge or public transportation across from Philly to Jersey. Apparently they have their heart set on taking the photos from that vantage point. If so, can you tell me the cost of public transportation and where the nearest spot in Jersey and Philly for them to get off/on and the name of the transportation. e.g SEPTA They are aware of the almost 2 mile span and they are not deterred. Thanks.

Just have them walk North from Independence Mall on 5th street. Once they walk past the constitution center, walk on Ben Franklin bridge toward NJ. Once they get past the half way point, they can get plenty of pictures of Philadelphia. I took my son there for his photography class project.

If they want more pictures, have them walk west on Arch street when they walk back to Philly side on the bridge. There is a parking garage after 13th street on Arch. This garage

Walk in the entry glass door (lobby with the kiosk to pay) and take the elevator all the way to the top. On the roof top of the garage, they can get some pictures with City Hall in the backdrop.

PATCO( not part of SEPTA) trains run on the BF Bridge between Camden and Center City Philly.

Last time I was near the Phila. Museum of Art, the Rocky statue was covered up for repairs so you should find out about that.

^^ Patco is the easiest, but I really like the ferry ride. Maybe they could do that one way.
