Hello,
I recently joined new job in Wilmington, DE. I currently live in Parsippany, NJ. I am planning to relocate near Wilmington. My primary preferences are:
1. I have a 7 year old kid so I am looking for good school distinct.
2. Good Indian community area.
3. 30-40 minutes commute from Wilmington.
4. 2 bedroom apartment with $1200 to $1400 rent.

Considering all above points I am preferring PA side to live. I found following areas to relocate:
1. West Chester - Most preffered
2. Springfield
3. Glenolden

Please advise.

sumitsoni04,

West Chester would be the best area in terms of the school district. However, Springfield is not too far behind. You may want to be cautious of Glenolden which is part of the Interboro School District.

The challenge with West Chester would be finding a good two-bedroom apartment in your price range. The rental market is very pricey right now, especially in the West Chester market. $1,200 to $1,400 would provide a good selection in Springfield. And the commute to Wilmington from Springfield is easier than from West Chester (I-95 vs. 202).

Springfield has a growing Asian community (more east Asian than south Asian) and is closer to the Millbourne section of Upper Darby which is majority Indian (you also want to be cautious of the Upper Darby school district). It is my understanding that Upper Merion likewise has a large Indian community but that is far from Wilmington.

Thanks for your response. What is your thought about Media? I heard it is very nice town and school distinct is very good. I am not sure if there are any Indian population there or not.

Media and the surrounding areas of Upper Providence and Middleton townships are part of the Rose Tree-Media school district which is very good - on par with West Chester school district. It is a great town and is also close to Springfield in location. It would be a great choice but there is not a large Indian population there.

Thanks for your valuable feedback. I decide to move Glen Mills. The school distinct is Garnet Vallay. It is bit more then my budget but for I guess this is required for a good school.

Hey, my work might be taking me to Glen Mills and my requirements are exactly same as yours. Which apartment community did you go for?
