Hi. I grew up in glen mills and moved away and can’t believe how much h it’s grown. Dad is refusing to move to me , and is now in need of skilled nursing care ( we tried assisted living and it didn’t work). He wants to stay local in glen mills/concordville area . I see a few options: riddle village, Briton , and Naemens manor . I’ve read reviews and reports from the state and it seems no where is great and every place has issues. I’m more concerned because If I moved there I could go in unannounced and check on him. He will have hospice in place so there are some extra eyes. Does anyone have experience good or bad? It seems Naemens and riddle might be a better bet than Briton. Dunwoody was an option but he said that’s too far away. Thanks

I have no personal experience with any of those three, but there's a fourth right in Glen Mills where a great-aunt lives - Maris Grove. She and my (now deceased) uncle moved there not long after it first opened and they were very happy. My aunt still lives independently, but they have Assisted Living and Long-Term Nursing Care too. Might be worth a look.

I don't have first hand knowledge but I have heard excellent things about Maris Grove. I believe it's super pricey though.
There is another one I've heard great things about- White Horse Village. It's in Newtown Square but not very far from Concordville. (probably similar distance as Riddle Village)

About 10 minutes west of Concordville on Route 1, there are two retirement communities, Kendall at Longwood and Crosslands. https://www.kendal-crosslands.org/

They have Quaker roots and operating influences. Both have nursing/rehab facilities. I actually spent a few weeks at Crosslands in 2019 recovering from a bad ankle break. I was very impressed with the care and particularly the therapy (which may not be relevant for your dad).

We also have friends at Maris Grove. They speak very highly of the whole operation. There are 1800 residents -- it's really like a small town tucked into a corner of Concordville.
