We are moving to Yardley in a month Both my husband and I work and need to put the kids in camp! They are going into 1st and 3rd grade

I am not familiar with the area, so I am looking for a camp:

1. Isn't crazy expensive
2. Has hours from 9-3 (or around there)
3. Kids can meet friends that are in their school!
4. Has swimming

Thanks so much!!

Veuvegirl, you may not find a camp that is inexpensive in Yardley. Many of the Yardley kids who attend either Eleanor Roosevelt or Afton end up in Newtown Swim Camp or one of the many other daycamps in Newtown, but they pay for it.

The other option you may want to consider if cost is critical, would be a 7-5 program with one of the Catholic Schools. They are very, very reasonable (ours is $150/week) and they mimic a summer at home with Mom, rather than your standard summer camp. That's what we wanted for our younger daughter until she's at least 8.

We have our daughter signed up for one that's in a big old house that is owned by the church. The ladies run it. The kids get to sit around and watch TV a bit and relax, like at home. They walk the kids from the school to the pool two days a week and Friday is bowling day at the bowling alley. They have a large-fenced-in yard, where they play and eat popsicles in the afternoon. Email me if you want more details.

If your child is older, I've heard that Newtown swim camp is great.

Thanks Sparkie! I am familiar with the Newtown Swim Camp, it does look great. I'll look in the Newtown area, thanks. I didn't see anything in Yardley.

Not sure if they'll still have openings but there's Breezy Ppoint in Langhorne. They even offer transportation, I believe. Philadelphia.craigslist.com may also have some ideas.

A lot of the schools run day camps now that are pretty reasonable. You can check there
