I currently live in NY State and work in Manhattan and since i decided to get involved with someone who lives in Vineland, NJ () am looking to move south, and possibly work in Philly.

I'm an Office Manager/Executive Assistant and can typically find work anywhere - I have been doing some reaserch but for those who live there - are there jobs? I would love to work in the non-profit sector but am not sure I could take the hit financially right now.

The reason i ask is if i choose to move first and then try and find work I am wondering how difficult that will be. I just started looking but given my current long hours I'm not sure how I can take a lot of time to be in the area to interview, while still living in NY.

Appreciate any thoughts. Thanks in advance!
Liz

There are a lot of jobs here but in this economy I would make sure I had a job before I moved.

I echo the sentiment to find the job first before you move down. That said, I would think between the business district in Center City as well as the various office parks in King of Prussia, Plymouth Meeting, Blue Bell, Horsham, etc. that you would have plenty of opportunities to find the type of job you're looking for. Good luck!

FYI - you do know that Vineland is an hour+ commute to Center City, right?

Thanks for the replies and info. The travelling up and down 3 hours each way is getting to be a bit much and we are looking at all our options.

Yes S i do know it's an hour plus... we probably wouldn't stay in vineland but even if we did, I guess doing a little over 90 minutes now on public transport makes me think an hour driving has to be better...

at least I hope
