I am thinking of moving to West Chester due to a new job. I wanted to live in the actual borough since I read about a lot of cool shops there. I was wondering for those the live there how is the parking there? I guess this obviously varies greatly on the exact location but does anyone have a problem in general parking near their house? Are you fine once you get a few blocks from the center of town? I ask this just because I remember how bad it was when my friend lived in South Philly near South Street.

Count on renting a spot at one of the parking garages. When I lived there it wasnt even as built up as it is now, but the parking was very complicated ! If you are lucky enough to get a spot within a few blocks of your house, you have to make sure you are on the proper side of the road per night. They ticket HARD !!!!!!!!! They come and collect you if you dont pay the tickets !!
Try not to park in the south end of town. Your car will thank you

Ugh...you're lucky a few blocks within your house? Sounds like parking in Philly which is something I would NOT enjoy.

Whats wrong with parking south end of town...University students vandals or something?

Either way I will be renting in that area(borough or town)....I think its going to depend on parking because I sure as heck don't want to pay for a garage....is much does that run a month?

Parking around the WCU is a challenge as parking arond the shopping area is bad too except for after 5:00 because most of the town still closes up at night. It has grown much in the 15 years I have lived here with fun stores, restaurants and even ice cream shopps that stay open after dinner! Parking might be a hassle but the town is great.

What about parking in the historic area of West Chester?

Around West Miner and New Street?

loc: Miner St. at New St. West Chester PA US - Google Maps

I heard they have no permits there meaning its not too bad...only durning the day people from the court house use it for parking.

Also what are the snow removal procedures in West Chester? Meaning what do you have to do with your car during a snow storm?
